Rudy Ruettiger
Against all odds on a gridiron in South Bend, Indiana, Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger in twenty seven seconds, carved his name into history books as perhaps the most famous graduate of the University of Notre Dame. The son of an oil refinery worker and third of 14 children, Rudy rose from valleys of discouragement and despair to the pinnacles of success. Today, he is one of the most popular motivational speakers in the United States. It took years of fierce determination to overcome obstacles and criticisms, yet Rudy achieved his first dream - to attend Notre Dame and play football for the Fighting Irish. As fans cheered RU-DY, RU-DY, he sacked the quarterback in the last 27 seconds of the only play in the only game of his college football career. He is the only player in the school's history to be carried off the field on his teammates' shoulders.

Ross
Shafer
Ross Shafer
is a (6) time Emmy Award winning comedian-writer-author-TV producer.
He took the unlikely route from small town Pet Shop Manager to
Network talk show host; eventually competing head-to-head with
Johnny Carson and David Letterman. The Pet Shop was actually "America's
Only Stereo and Pet Shop" and was a miserable failure. Forced
to find another career, Ross sheepishly ventured into a Seattle
comedy club and tried out a few jokes. Well, enough of them worked
that he went on to win the Showtime Comedy Competition.

Lyn St.
James
When Lyn St.
James completed her first Indy 500 at the age of 45, she was just
the second woman in history to race in the event. Some doubted
that a woman could keep up with male drivers, and Lyn struggled
to get the sponsorship she needed to race. She took eleventh place,
and became the first woman to be selected Indy 500 Rookie of the
Year.
Fueled by
inspiration and limitless motivation, Lyn St. James managed to
rise through the ranks and eventually become known as the American
Woman Racing Icon of the Century. She is undoubtedly a testament
to the power of determination and positive thinking.

Nikki
Stone
At the Olympic
Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, Nikki Stone became Americas
first-ever Olympic Champion in the sport of inverted aerial skiing.
What made this performance so unbelievable, was the fact that
less than two years earlier, a chronic injury prevented her from
standing, much less walking or skiing down a slope at almost 40
miles per hour. She came dangerously close to being sidelined
from aerial skiing indefinitely.
Her tenacity
and refusal to step down from a challenge brought Nikki back to
the top of the freestyle skiing podium. This top spot was far
from foreign to Nikki, as throughout her career she earned 35
World Cup medals, eleven World Cup titles, four national titles,
two yearlong Aerial World Cup titles, and a World Championship
title. She also became the first pure aerialist ever (male or
female) to become the yearlong Overall Freestyle World Cup Champion.
