projects.
Just a few of
his many historical achievements are:

member who helped designed the space shuttle - the modern space
suite and the robotic arm.
- Story was
the first NASA astronaut to perform a space walk from the shuttle,
and the only astronaut in history to fly on all five space shuttles.
- Lead the
team to successfully fix the hubble telescope on STS
-61.
Dr. Story Musgrave
holds seven advanced degrees and has been awarded over fifteen honorary
degrees and world- class awards including the NASA Distinguished

He served a
surgical internship at the University of Kentucky Medical Center
in Lexington from 1964 to 1965, and continued there as a U. S. Air
Force post-doctoral fellow (1965-1966), working in aerospace medicine
and physiology, and as a National Heart Institute postdoctoral fellow,
teaching and doing research in cardiovascular and exercise physiology.
From 1967 to 1989, he continued clinical and scientific training
as a part-time surgeon at the Denver General Hospital and as a part-time
professor of physiology and biophysics at the University of Kentucky
Medical Center.
Since retiring
from NASA over six years ago, Story has maintained a busy schedule
with hundreds of TV appearances, speeches and as a consultant to
Disney's creative division and Applied Minds, a California think
tank for advanced technology and business practices.
In January of
of 2002 Story was awarded the Best Professional Speaker
