At American
Speakers Bureau, we suggest that people build into their lives
and personal systems some checklists to keep things focused
and organized. These lists can be very valuable, assuming
they are reviewed appropriately.
A great example, for people who travel, is the "Travel
Checklist" - -everything that you might ever want to
take with you anywhere. (Just because it's on the list, that doesn't
mean you HAVE to pack it, just that you might want to consider
the option so that you don't miss something.)
We compared lists around the office and have come up with a fairly
extensive combined list to use as a 'boilerplate'. Our recommendation
would be to copy and customize it for yourself. Keep a copy on
your PDA (personal digital assistant - whichever one is your preference)
so that you can check it again before heading back home. If you
have a motorcycle, plane, boat, or make special kinds of trips,
you might want a separate checklist for each of them as well.
Happy
Traveling!
